Thomas J. Kallhoff age 76 of Sidney, NE passed away Wednesday, June 27, 2018 at the Sidney Regional Medical Center in Sidney, NE.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Monday, July 2nd in the St. Patrick’s Catholic Church with Father Mike McDermott officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenwood Cemetery. Friends may stop at the Gehrig-Stitt Chapel on Sunday from 1:00-4:00 P.M. Memorial contributions may be made in Tom’s name to St. Patrick’s Church or the Nebraska Children’s Home, 3549 Fontenelle Blvd., Omaha, NE 68104. Thomas J. Kallhoff, the son of Thomas A. and Eleanor T. (Dickes) Kallhoff was born on September 25, 1941 in Sidney, NE. Tom attended and graduated in 1959 from St. Patrick’s School where he participated in football, basketball and track.
In 1953 his father died in an automobile accident and in 1957 his mother also died in an automobile accident leaving Tom and his younger brother Jim to live with their sister and brother-in-law Rose and Bob Kennedy in Sidney. On June 15, 1960 he married Marianne Wilson in the St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Sidney. Together they had three daughters, Mindy, Teri, Pam and one son James whom was stillborn. Tom was employed at Safeway, Mayfair, Egging and also worked at K-N as a serviceman. He retired from Kinder Morgan in October 2000. Tom loved to hunt, fish, and travel. He was an avid Husker fan and in retirement had planned to visit all of the states.
Tom is survived by his wife Marianne, daughters Mindy (Mike) Schmidt of Gurley, Teri (Dave) Petersen of Sidney, and Pam (Rocky) Vass of Iliff, CO, grandchildren Joe (Hilary) Doyle, Kyle (Julie) Doyle, Mikki (Shaun) Nienhueser, Ty (Kristin) Schmidt and Josh Vass, and (10) great-grandchildren; sisters-in law Debbie Kallhoff and Donna Kallhoff, brothers-in-law; Keith Wilson, Doug (Lyn) Wilson, Francis (Gloria) Wilson, Sam (Jane) Wilson, Rex (Pat) Wilson, and Bo (Kathy) Wilson; sisters-in-law Barbara (Darrell) Johnson, Loretta (Hap) Naprstek and Kathy (Tom) Solberg.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents, infant son James, brothers Lloyd and Jim Kallhoff, sisters Maxine Allgood and Rose Kennedy, brothers-in law Conrad Allgood and Bob Kennedy.
