Condolence From: Cindie Eckley
Condolence: He went to sleep one day, never here to awake again. But everything was all right between he and Him. He awoke in Heaven's courtyard, free from pain within, and the angels gathered 'round him and took him by the had. Serenaded by angels, right up to the throne. Serenaded by angels, finally at Home. Surrounded by praises to the King. " Welcome to Paradise! " The angels will sing.

Condolence From: Allen Knicely
Condolence: Dear Aunt Jan, Jim,Nancy,Susan, and John My sister Mary called me to tell me about Uncle Jack's death. He was a unique person in that he had such a distinguished career as well as such a loving thoughtful person who always seemed to be interested in how your life was going as well as your family. He seemed so keenly aware of things. It seems life throws you a curve ball some times, I know this last year has been tough. He is in a better place now with loved ones for sure. I still remember the parade in the 60's. He had a full and wonderful life! Love, Allen, Marilyn, and Gillian

Condolence: iIn 1980 I I had the honour and pleasure of having Jack as my Rotary exchange student guardian/mentor. Jack was welcoming, warm, treated you like an adult and quietly firm. Jack was, as they say, a class act. His time in the service in WW 2 was a story not told to me by Jack in 1980, only discovered in conversation with him a a spry 89 year old on a visit to Sidney in 2010. Stories of the Burma Hump where told to me by my father and I thank Jack for his service to his country and the defense of mine, Australia. I pass on my condolences to Jack's wife and children the Knicely extended family. RIP Jack, maybe we will get another hit of tennis one day!

Condolence From: Bill &Kathleen Dinges
Condolence: Jan and children, I have so many memories of Jack. We sang beside each other in the choir, oh his vabrado voice. Our talks in the Trinity center after church, and the wisdom he could impart, only when asked. Most of all, Jack reading the 23rd Psalms for the Tenabray Service, I think of him every time I read, or hear it. Jesus said "I go to prepare a place for you". We can take solace in knowing he is home, Praise the Lord.

Condolence From: Dave Groshans
Condolence: John and Family: Please accept my most sincere condolences for the passing of your father Jack. I have such great memories of your family, including your father and mother Betty, as your family so graciously included me in your family activities during the years that John and I were friends in elementary school. We really don’t know how our actions affect other people do we? Whether it was your father coaching our baseball teams, your mother including me in family meals or barbecues in the backyard, or just their friendliness as I would stop at your home to get John to walk to school . . . your parents, in many ways, became life models for me. Jack and Betty were very much a positive influence on me and what I have learned is important in life. Dave Groshans

Condolence From: Dick and Conni Bales
Condolence: To the entire Knicely family, you have our most deepest and sincerely condolences at the loss of such a wonderful man. I have many fond memories of your family growing up in Sidney. I graduated from SHS with Jim and see John on the nightly news in Omaha. Jack was the patriarch of a great family and I'm sure he and Betty were very proud parents as you all grew into adults. Betty was my cub scout leader and I remember all the trips past your house on my bike to get things at Osage grocery. The article in the Sidney newspaper by Larry Nelson was a fitting tribute to the many accomplishments during Jack's long life. He will be missed but never forgotten. We hope that you all have peace in knowing that he is reunited with Betty and has left you with so many wonderful memories. He was a very special person. Dick and Conni Bales Omaha, NE
