Amy Vath was born Amy Lyn Wade in Sacramento California to Patrice (Dodge) and Willard Wade. Amy attended grade school and High School in Sacramento. Shortly after graduating high school Amy moved with her mother to Jackson, TN, and then to Kearney, NE, where her mother’s family roots were. While in Kearney, Amy met her husband, Carter Vath. Together they had two children Megan and Leland. Carter and Amy settled in Jackson, TN, where Amy held numerous clerical positions with several service-related companies. Amy’s true passion was baking and in 2010 she opened “Amy Lyn’s Sweet treats” in Jackson where she made fresh cupcakes, cookies, pies, and custom order cakes.
In the early 2000s Carter and Amy took their profession on the road and traveled for work while living full time in a travel trailer with their son. They traveled all over the country and managed to make their professional lives more like a vacation.
In 2014 Amy and Carter settled in Cookeville, TN. Shortly after that, Amy began a health battle that limited her mobility to a wheelchair. She and Carter moved to Dalton, NE, to be close to family and Amy fought her illness for nearly five years before finally losing her battle.
Amy was preceded in death by her grandparents, and her mother. She is survived by her husband Carter; children Megan (Brad) Smith of Jackson, TN, son Leland Vath of Dalton; brother Jeremy and Miranda Wade of Jackson, TN, and father Willard Wade of Sacramento CA.
