Bill Rush was also my math teacher for three years. Math was my favorite subject since grade school and Bill amplified that interest with his presentation, calm demeanor, knowledge and expertise. I majored in Electrical Engineering at Nebraska. Math is the language of Engineering and the background Bill provided in his courses was essential to surviving and succeeding at the college level during the myriad hours of math plus each and every engineering subject. At our Class of '65 50th Reunion I was fortunate to be seated at the same table with Bill and had the opportunity to thank him for his contributions to my life. Thank you, thank you Mr Rush and may God Speed.

Bill Rush was my math teacher for my three years of high school. He was a wonderful man, and an inspirational teacher. When I graduated in 1965, I went to NU in Lincoln with plans to be a music teacher. That lasted all of my first two weeks in college. Because of Bill, I immediately switched to math and computer science and stayed in math and computer-related work the rest of my working life. I had the highest regard for Bill and he will be missed by me and the many other students he taught.

Bill Rush was my teacher for two mathematics classes at Sidney High School in 1963-64. He was instrumental in developing my lifelong love for mathematics and was one of reasons I majored in math and became a math teacher myself. It was an honor for me to talk with Mr. Rush at our Sidney High School Class of ’65 reunion in 2005, and I was humbled when he told me he was proud of me for my career in teaching. I’ll remember him forever as one of the most inspirational people in my life. Gary Tsuruda

Bill Rush was my advanced mathematics teacher at Sidney HS. He was one of the reasons I went into teaching mathematics myself. Some of my students say that I made mathematics easy and I am crediting him for my successes with my students. Bill, you had more students than what you will ever know. Thanks. Rest in Peace.

I was sorry to hear of the death of Bill Rush. He was my mathematics teacher for my first three years of high school at Dalton, Nebraska. I remember him as a very thorough teacher who provided a sound basis in mathematics that I found very helpful in my later work. It sounds as if he was able to be active up until right before the end, so that was a blessing. Our condolences to his family and friends.
