Obituary for Donna M. McQueen

Donna M. McQueen, age 98, of Sidney, NE passed away in Sidney on Friday, July 29, 2022. Graveside services will be at 11:30 A.M. on Friday, September 23, 2022 at the Greenwood Cemetery in Sidney with Pastor Chad Rademacher officiating. Donna Marie was born on March 2, 1924 in Bridgeport, NE, to Roy and Rose Lee (Nunn) Bartholomew. Donna and her parents moved to Washington state in pursuit of jobs. Donna married Clarence Shelley in Seattle, WA and to this Union 5 children were born: Larry Dean Shelley, Lynda Kay (Shelley) Sadis, Lanny Owen Shelley, Gary Wayne Shelley and AnnaLee (Shelley) Gruber. The family moved around to many places in Washington, Illinois and South Carolina.
Donna met and soon thereafter married Floyd Nelson McQueen in Seattle, Wa, where they resided until retirement. They then moved north of Spokane and built their home together on the Ponderay River. After Nels passed away she remained living in their home on the river. In 2009 she moved to Sidney where her son, Larry and family live. She enjoyed spending her time with her grandson, Dustin Shelley and Granddaughter, Brittney Moore and families. After she moved to Sidney her grandchildren in Washington missed their Grandmother greatly. Grandchildren David Sadis, Shaya (Shy) Sadis and Marie Briggman spent a great deal of time with their grandparents at their home on the river and they were a big influence in their grandchildren’s lives. Prior to passing at the age of 98, Donna was baptized in Christ by Pastor Chad Rademacher.
Survivors include Donna’s daughters, Lynda Kay Sadis of Mill Creek, WA, AnnaLee (Shelley) Gruber of Cosmopolis, WA, her son, Lanny Owen Shelley of Whidbey Island, WA, daughters in law, Kay Shelley, Teresa Shelley, Danielle Shelley, 16 Grandchildren and 16 Great Grandchildren.
She was proceeded in death by her parents, a step mother. Her Husband, Nels, sons, Larry and Gary and Grandson Jordan.
