Elizabeth Jane “Betty” Meick

Elizabeth Jane {Betty} Meick, 93, wife of the late James Edward Meick of Peetz, passed away November 30, 2019 at home. Betty was born May 18, 1926. She was the daughter of the late David R. Roberts and Lena Jane Roberts and the sister of her beloved late five brothers. Gerald, Bob, Ras, Don and Bill Roberts. Fathers of her many Nieces and Nephews who she adored.
Betty was the mother of her three children Sandy Luchetti (Mike), James W. Meick (Pam), and Dale W. Meick (Rhonda). Who loved her with all their hearts and souls. She was their sunshine and their angel. Her grandchildren were the loves of her life and her joy. Mike Luchetti, {Steph}, Tina Luchetti, {JR}, Nick Luchetti, Andy Meick, (Ashley) and Tony Meick. Step-grandchildren Shawna Rowley {Josh}, Brandon George, Leisha Muggli, Troy Hundley. And all her great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Betty graduated from Peetz High School and the Central Business College in Denver. She ran the 55+ bus program and the commodity program in Peetz, CO. Betty was a Girl Scout Leader for 50 years. She loved each and every one of her girls. She was a trainer and became district service unit manager for the State of Colorado. Betty said she couldn’t have done it without the help from her leaders Lorrie Wood, Susan Buss, and Shirley Miller and many, many more.
Like her best friend and sister-in-law Pat Meick said, “Once you knew Betty you loved her.” She was always full of joy and laughter. She was truly an angel to everyone who knew her. Crazy Aunt Betty to her nieces and nephews. She was so loved by her entire family, she was our sunshine and joy. Her bearers will be her grandchildren, Mike Luchetti, Tina Luchetti, JR McGehee, Nick Luchetti, Tony Meick, Andy Meick, Andrew Meick.
A special thanks to Hospice of the Plains, Chris and Naomi, they were her angels and she looked forward to their visits.Donations can be made to Hospice or the Peetz Girl Scouts Troop#70436.

Betty Meick was the best mother-in-law you could ask for ! She loved her children and grandchildren ( Tony and Andy Meick ) my boys . I have always held a special place in my heart for her and will continue to . She was an Angel to anyone who met her. And such a hard worker in all she did for the Peetz Community.
I’ve shed many tears since Saturday since her passing and will never forget her and her kindness. My husband and I will be donating to Hospice and the Girl Scouts in place of flowers . I really feel she would have liked it that way
My deepest sympathy goes out to the Meick and Roberts families.

We are so sorry to hear such a wonderful woman has passed on. The mother and grandmother of good friends, Betty welcomed us into her home and was always there for her loved ones. Betty raised her children well and is an example for all of a life lived for others. We learned about hunting for Indian beads and arrowheads on adventurous hikes in the canyons years ago as well as unconditional love for others she encountered. She will be missed by many but are reassured we will once again see her on the other side of the rainbow. Our deepest sympathies to all the family left behind.
