Obituary for Eugene James "EJ" Bailey

Eugene James Bailey "EJ", 28, of McCook, NE, formerly of Chappell, sadly passed away on May 11, 2022 as the result of injuries he sustained in a motorcycle accident near McCook. Funeral Services will be held at 2 PM on Thursday, May 19, 2022 at the Chappell United Methodist Church with Pastor Scott Paxton officiating. Interment will follow at the Chappell Cemetery. Friends may stop at the church from 11 AM until service time on Thursday. Memorials may be sent to Adams Bank and Trust in Chappell, NE.

EJ, the son of Teresa Green and Brad Bailey, was born in Broken Bow, NE on December 14, 1993. EJ attended Creek Valley High School where he enjoyed playing football and wrestling.
The highlight of EJ's life was working on cars, hunting, fishing, being with the love of his life and kids, and his motorcycle.
EJ had many nicknames given to him by the many friends and family such as EJ, J, Bubby, little buddy, peckerhead, and gnome plus many, many more. EJ was a member of the Red Willow County Fire Department.

Survivors include his parents Teresa and her husband Jim Green of Chappell, NE and Brad Bailey and friend of Scottsbluff, NE; sister Elizabeth Green of Chappell, NE; brother Josh and wife Amanda Green of Sidney, NE; sister Jessica and husband John Baker of Bellevue, NE; brother Jake and wife Ashley Green of Sutherland, NE; grandmother Vicky Terwilliger of McCook, NE; aunt Linda Bailey Erb of Beatrice, NE; aunt Brenda and husband Mike Corbin of Thedford, NE; uncle Travis Terwilliger of McCook, NE; sisters Sierra and Caitlyn of Benkelman, NE along with many other family members.

EJ was preceded into death by his grandfathers: Gene Johnson, Cleo Terwilliger, and Norm Green; grandmothers Sue Johnson and Barb Green; sister Emily Johnson; nephew Zachary Johnson; uncle James Bailey; and aunt Janet Bailey.

EJ will be greatly missed but not forgotten by countless lives that he has touched. And as EJ would say “YEE YEE!”
