Gladys L. Trump

Gladys Lucille (Pike) Trump, in her 89th year, went home to our Heavenly Father on Sunday, July 12th, 2020.
Gladys was born August 5th, 1930, on a farm Northeast of Oshkosh, NE to Maude (Blausey) Pike and Albert Pike. She attended a small country school, Lone Star, and worked (yes, real work) on the family farm. She married the love of her life, Charles Frank Trump, on June 5th, 1950, and loved to tell the story of when they first met during a hay field wildfire. To this union, they were blessed with four children. They lived on a small farm they had purchased and Charles worked as a mechanic in Oshkosh.
In 1963, the family settled their roots in Lodgepole. Gladys is known by many as a kind soul with a big smile. She was a farm girl at heart with quick wit and a strong-willed personality. Once a decision was made, “there was not much use” trying to convince her otherwise. She loved weekly fishing trips, had a passion for gardening, and she was a friend to everyone. Most of all, Gladys loved her family deeply, which was felt by everyone around her. She was a cornerstone of love and a picture-perfect example of what a mother is to her family.
Gladys is survived by her son, Gary and wife Janie of Grand Island, NE, son Dave and wife Tami of Lodgepole, NE, son Dennis of Cheyenne, WY, grandchildren, Stacy Wilkins, Parker, CO, Amber Smith, Olathe, KS, Jennifer Gove, Omaha, NE, Brian Trump, Kansas City, MO, Aaron Bennish, Edwards AFB, Ryan Bennish, Dalton, NE, Sean Bussey, Vancouver, WA, six great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was welcomed to heaven by her loving husband, Charles, daughter, Sandy, daughter-in-law, Kathy, parents, Albert and Maude, and all seven of her siblings.
Funeral services will be graveside on Friday, July 17th, 2020 at 10:00 A.M. at the Lodgepole Pleasant View Cemetery with Reverend Ceciliah Igweta officiating. Friends may stop at the Gehrig-Stitt Chapel on Thursday from 1-7:00 P.M. to sign Glady’s register book and leave condolences for the family. Memorials may be given in Gladys’ name to the United Methodist Church of Lodgepole. The service and arrangements are being administered by Gehrig-Stitt Chapel & Cremation Service.
