Obituary for Harold A Schuessler

Harold Schuessler, age 93, of Cheyenne, WY and former Cheyenne County resident, passed away on Friday, November 18, 2022, in Cheyenne. A Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 22, 2022 at 2:00 P.M. at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Cheyenne, WY. Visitation will be held Monday, November 21, 2022 from 12-5:00 P.M. at Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel in Cheyenne. Family will be present from 3-5:00 P.M. An additional visitation will be held at 9-11:00 A.M. on Tuesday at Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel. One hour before the service there will be a public visitation at Our Savior Lutheran Church from 1-2:00 P.M. There will be no visitation in Sidney. A Graveside Service with Full Military Honors will be at Greenwood Cemetery in Sidney on Wednesday, November 23, 2022 at 11:00 A.M. Lunch will follow at the Lodgepole Valley Youth Camp in Sidney.

Harold Schuessler was born in Sidney, Feb 7. 1929. He attended St. Paul's Parochial School at Potter, grades 1-8, then attended and graduated from Potter High School, May 14, 1947. He was Boys State Delegate in 1946. He enlisted in the Air Force for four years, during the Korean War and was stationed in Texas, Oklahoma, Germany & Lincoln. NE.
He married Bonnie Groshans, June 9, 1957, at Sidney. They lived in the basement apartment of Harold's parents in Sidney until they moved to the country home northeast of Potter in Feb. 1959. Harold farmed since his return from the service and received a conservation award.
Harold was a lifetime member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church at Potter and Sidney and now belonged to Our Savior, Cheyenne. He was a Sunday School teacher for 20 years and Sunday School Superintendent 5 years. He was active in Lutheran Laymen's League and served on many local, zone and NE. District offices. They met in the church choir and sang in many church choirs.
Harold's favorite past time was square dancing and served on many offices of many square dance clubs. Harold and Bonnie enjoyed traveling and saw many foreign countries. Harold was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Ottilie Schuessler; brother, Herb (Annabelle); sisters, Olga (Art) Baack, Mildred (John) Katschor, Vanita (Carl) Katschor; son, Eugene; brother in law Vernon Groshans; sister in laws, Margy (Roby) Felzein, Shirley (Maurice) Sunderman.
He is survived by his wife, Bonnie; children, Colleen (Marvin) Coufal, Bee, NE; Craig, Potter; Cheryl (Robin) Baldwin Pulaski, TN; 13 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren, nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
