Obituary for James E. Minshall

James E. Minshall, age 91, passed away Tuesday, September 22, 2020 in Sidney, NE.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Monday, September 28, 2020 in the Gehrig-Stitt Chapel with Pastor Lee Eads officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasantview Cemetery in Lodgepole, NE. Friends may stop at the Gehrig-Stitt Chapel on Monday from 9-11:00 A.M. to sign Jims’s register book and leave condolences for the family. Memorial contributions may be given to the DAV Chapter 40 in care of Ron Gusman, 2457 Canterbury Lane, Sidney, NE 69162. James Edward “Eddie” Minshall was born in Sidney to Henry William and Violet Neuwanda (Gregory) Minshall on April 17, 1929. James had a brother Malvin McKinley Minshall and a sister Constance (Minshall) Bules.
James was married 3 times: Vivian (Anderson) Minshall, in this union 2 children were born Steven Robert and Nawanda Annette Minshall. The second spouse was Gladys Minshall of Kansas. Third spouse Gloria Jean (Way) Minshall, joining the marriage was her 2 children, Leland and Timothy Adamson.
James as a young man was an avid hunter and fisherman. He joined the Army in his teenage years and served our country honorably. James studied to be a Methodist minister in which he held God close to heart. For many years of his life, he drove truck for Peterson’s across the country. He was an excellent storyteller and an unjudgmental ear.
James was preceded in death by his parents Henry W. and Violet N. Minshall, first wife Vivian Minshall, and daughter Nawanda A. (Minshall) Peacock, his wife Gloria Minshall, Brother Malvin M. Minshall and wife Shirley (Seyfang) Minshall, and other beloved family members.
Survived by Sons: Steven and wife Charlotte Minshall of Sidney, Leland and wife Jennifer Adamson of Sidney and Timothy Adamson. Sister: Constance and husband Richard Bules of Sidney, Son-in-law Larry D. Peacock of Davie NE, Grandchildren: James Peacock, Nicole Nicholls, Stephen and wife Autumn Adamson, Kaitlyn Adamson, Megan and husband Montana DeNardo, Aaron Adamson, Cassandra Hall. Followed by 8 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
