Jean Eileen Johnson, 94 of Chappell went to be with the Lord on July 4th, 2020 at Sidney Regional Extended Care facility in Sidney.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Friday, July 10, 2020 in the Chappell United Methodist Church with Reverend Ceciliah Igweta and Pastor Leon “Bud” Gillespie officiating. Burial will follow in the Chappell Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9-11:00 A.M. at the church prior to the service. Memorials may be given in Jean’s name to the Alzheimer’s Foundation. Jean was born September 22, 1925 on a farm in Lisco to Irving and Amanda (Reick) Winterer. Jean attended school in Lisco, and received her diploma in Sidney. She married Jack Lane in April of 1945 and was blessed with 5 children. They moved to Chappell in 1964, where she worked as a nurse in the Chappell Nursing Home for 12 years. She also worked as a cook in the Chappell Public Schools for 3 years. Jean divorced Jack in 1973. She remarried and became a farm wife, who loved her chickens, cows, and being a dog breeder and of course her flower beds.
Jean enjoyed traveling, bowling, crocheting, cooking and always time with the family. Every Sunday she would cook a fantastic meal, have family over and there would always be a card game to follow.
Jean was preceded in death by her parents, Irving and Amanda Winterer, 2 sisters Gladys Holms and Donna Burke, 1 brother Leo Winterer.
Survivors include Children, Jackie Pollat of Gurley, Larry Lane (Donna) of Broadwater, Beth Marr of Oshkosh, Mark Lane of Chappell, and David Lane (Jan) of Chappell, 9 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren
