Jesse Raymond Jenks, Jr., was born to Jesse and Ruby Kathleen (Wooden) Jenks on July 21, 1928 in Dawn, MO. He attended school through grade 8. Following his education, he moved to Sidney. Moore Sand and Gravel business for several years. He then worked various positions with the City of Sidney prior to becoming a police officer. He retired as a police lieutenant after 26 years of service. J.R. enjoyed woodworking, he could build anything out of a little bit of nothing. He was a fisherman. Life was right with a cup of coffee and a western on TV. He loved spending time with the grandchildren and great-grandchildren. If anyone needed anything he would find a way so they could have it, even if it meant going without himself. He had a million things to say and only used a handful of words. His eyes did the talking.
