Obituary for Joan M Ewing
Joan M. Ewing, age 76, formerly of Dalton, NE passed away Monday, January 24, 2022 in Sterling, CO. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Friday, February 4, 2022 at the First United Methodist Church in Sidney, NE with Pastor Roger Gillming officiating. Burial will take place in the Dalton Cemetery in Dalton, NE. Services will be recorded and available on our website for viewing. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to First United Methodist Church, 2622 11th Ave., Sidney, NE 69162 and Alzheimer’s research.

She was a graduate of Dalton High School in 1963. She attended Hastings College.
Joan worked at a resort in Lake Michigan and as a teacher’s assistant in Hastings, NE.
Joan was a loved daughter, sister, aunt, great aunt and friend. She will be remembered for her
kind heart, soft spoken voice, and most importantly to us- Joan was the “keeper of our stories”.
She remembered with such great detail the stories of her parents and growing up with her
brother. She remembered and shared with us memories that we will hold in our hearts forever.
She is survived by her brother Thomas Ewing, nephews John and Joshua Ewing, niece
Heather Bradley, great nieces Violet, Hayley, Bailey and great nephew Caden.
Joan was welcomed home by her Lord and Savior, her parents John and Bonnie Ewing, sister in
law Mary Ewing, nephews Christian and Benjamin Ewing as well as other family members and
friends.
Joan lost her ability to remember, we want to honor Joan by keeping her stories alive. We
encourage you to listen to all your family stories, listen to them over and over again. Memories
are the most important thing we have, sit with your family and tell the stories that are important
to you.
