Joanne C. Wolff
On July 26, 2020, Joanne Carolyn (Buss) Wolff, loving wife, mother and grandmother, passed away at the age of 86, in North Platte, NE. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, August 1st in the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Sidney with Pastor Bob Deardoff officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery.
Friends may stop at the Gehrig-Stiff Chapel on Friday from 1-7:00 P.M. with family present from 4-6:00 P.M. to sign the register book and leave condolences for the family. Memorial contributions can be made to Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Joanne’s name.

Joanne was born on June 29, 1934 in Blue Hill, NE to Edward F. and Emma A.F.(Arndt) Buss. Later the family moved to Imperial, NE, and then to Haxtun, CO, where Joanne completed her senior year, and graduated from high school. After graduation, Joanne moved to Greeley, CO to attend beauty school. Once there, she began dating her future husband, and family friend, LaVern Wolff. They were married on June 27, 1954.
In 1968, LaVern and Joanne moved their family to Sidney, where Joanne became manager and instructor at the local beauty school. A few years later, she opened the “Beauty Boutique” salon, and became well-known and loved throughout the community. She was a beautician for over 40 years.
Joanne leaves behind 5 children: son, Deris Wolff and wife Cheryl, Littleton, CO; daughter, Wendy Reffitt, Omaha, NE; daughter, Jayma Wirth, Lake Jackson, Texas; son, DeWayne Wolff and wife Kim, Sidney; and daughter, Amber Niles and husband John, North Platte; grandchildren: Christopher Wolff and wife Shelley, Jenny Certain, Jake Wirth, Sarah Henderson and husband Shane, Jordan Olsen, Jaylee Niles, Joel Niles, Joclynn Niles, Jaxson Niles, and Hunter Wolff; and great-grandchildren: Lea, Sadie, Amelia, Lilah and Emma. She is also survived by brothers and sisters-in-law Toni Buss, Bill Moss, Deo and Diane Wolff, and Shirley Lucero, as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Emma Buss; her husband, LaVern; her brother Don Buss, and sisters Nelma Jean Reed and husband Henry, Marge Walker and husband George, and Francis Moss; father and mother-in-law Herman and Pearl (Pope) Wolff, and brothers and sisters-in-law Jerry and Miriam Wolff, Delbert and Betty Wolff, and Floyd Lucero.
