Obituary for Joel Cure
Joel L. Cure, age 62, passed away peacefully on December 11, 2020 with his wife and step-daughter by his side. Memorial Services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, April 24, 2021 in the Gehrig -Stitt Chapel in Sidney, NE. Cremation has taken place. Friends may stop at the Gehrig-Stitt Chapel on Friday from 1-6:00 P.M. to sign Joel’s register book and leave condolences for the family.

Joel Lee Cure was born on December 15, 1957 in Williston, ND to Floyd and Patsy Cline Cure. He was the oldest of four children.
His father worked for a seismograph crew and they moved a lot in his young life. Finally ending up in Merino, CO where he went to high school, played football and wrestled. After high
school, Joel started working on the oil rigs.
In 1981, he married Vicky Whited and from that union were three children, Joshua, Misty and Tyler. In 1986, Joel was hurt on the rigs and took time to recover. He attended college in Fort Collins, CO and received his degree in Auto Cad drafting as a master draftsman. He worked for Wisdoms
in Merino drafting and designing carnival rides that everyone enjoys at the fair.
In 1997, he married Anita Arellano in Sidney and worked for Geigers. He enjoyed this but
it kept him from being home. Later he worked for Foster Lumber and then for N&T Lumber. He loved his job and became good friends with his employer.
Joel was a very loving husband, father and papa. You couldn’t find a better man. If you
met him half-way, he would take the journey with you. He was always ready to help in any way
and his love was unconditional. Joel helped care for his step-daughter and mother-in-law until they passed. The love he had for his wife was amazing.
He enjoyed fishing, camping and collecting antiques. He was a die-hard Bronco fan and loved
his Ford truck. He always said “I say what I mean and I mean what I say”. He was very
talented and could fix anything. His granddaughters always said “If Papa can’t fix it, nobody can”. He had a very loving and giving heart. He left this world with no regrets. He loved the Lord and
would quote Bible verses to you. Anyone that didn’t take the time to know him, really lost out.
Joel is survived by his wife, Anita; two sons, Joshua and wife Katie Cure, Tyler Cure; two daughters, Misty Cure and Tiffany Keller and friend Adrian Young; 11 grand-children; parents, Floyd and Patsy Cure; one brother, Jerald and wife Rhonda Cure; two sisters, Vicky and husband Johnny Mathis and Pam
Cure; and his close cousin Jr. Donaldson.
He is preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents, mother and father-in-law Ralph and Lois Henkle; one sister-in-law, Barbara Mclean and one daughter, Nichole Clark.
