Obituary for Kenneth G. Fleming
Kenneth “Ken” Gene Fleming, age 89 of Plattsmouth, NE formerly of Bellevue, NE passed away on Saturday, April 24, 2021 at The Nebraska Masonic Home in Plattsmouth.
Ken was born on July 14, 1931 to Ralph and Clara O. (Johnson) Fleming in Sidney, NE. He was raised and schooled in Lorenzo, NE. He met “Corky” Marlene Bartels and they later married on May 16, 1953 in Peetz, CO. He loved skiing, riding horses, playing cards, amateur radio, and farming.
He was a member of the Frank Welch Lodge No. 75 of Sidney, NE and other Masonic organizations and was a Past Grand Master of Nebraska in 1997.
Ken is survived by his wife: Corky Fleming of Plattsmouth, NE; daughter: Debbie Carson and husband Jim of Denver, CO; son-in-law: Joe Meuser of North Platte, NE; grandchildren: Josh Carson and Chelsea Carson of Denver, CO; Megan Baker and husband Jason of Kearney, NE; Katie Meuser of Chicago, IL; great grandchildren: Haydn Thomsen of North Platte, NE; Ian Baker of Kearney, NE; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and numerous friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Ralph and Clara Fleming, sister and husband: Melba and Dwight Beck of Overland Park, KS; son: Mark Fleming of Sidney, NE; and daughter: Cynthia Meuser of North Platte, NE.
A Masonic Memorial Service will be held at a later date in Plattsmouth, NE with burial in Sidney, NE.
A graveside service is planned for Monday, June 28, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. in the Greenwood Cemetery in Sidney, NE.
