Obituary for Kristina L. ""Kris"" Narjes

Kristina L. Narjes
Kristina Louise Narjes age 72 died Saturday June 13, 2020 at her home in Rural Sidney. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, June 19, 2020 in the Trinity Lutheran Church South of Sidney with Reverend Neil Carlson officiating. Burial will be in the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Kris’s name to the Trinity Lutheran South Divide Church, Immanuel Lutheran School in Alliance or to the donor’s choice.

Kristina was born May 19th 1948 to William and Laurine Burtless in Adrian, MI. Kris attended St. John’s Lutheran school, she was Confirmed April, 15 1962, and graduated from Adrian High School in 1966 and was a graduate of Concordia Teachers College in 1970. Following graduation Kris taught in Kankakee IL for 2 years.
Kristina was married to David A. Narjes of Sidney on June, 25th 1972 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Adrian, MI.
After moving to Sidney, she taught at District #97 rural school. They have lived in the same rural community for their almost 48 years together. In her younger years Kris was active in Lutheran Woman’s Missionary League, State Liners Extension Club and University Women. Kris contributed in various ways as a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. Kris and David found much strength throughout the years in their faith.
To this union three sons were born, Andrew, Timothy and Jeremy. After the boys were grown Kris worked for 14 years as an aid for Sidney Public Schools retiring in 2013.
Surviving Kris is her Husband David, their sons and their wives Andrew and Kristin, Timothy and Kari, and Jeremy and Danae. Her grandsons James, David, Xander, Owen, Nathan and Zac. Others missing her are her siblings, Judy Burtless Buttery, Charles Burtless (Debbie), Jan Burtless, Bruce Burtless (Beth), and Becky Burtless-Creps (Chad), Aunt Pat Randall and sister-in-law Julianne Hardinger (Phil), along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.
She was preceded in death by her parents William and Laurine, her parents-in-law Alvin and Gladys and brothers-in-law Daryl Narjes and Bob Buttery.
Many will remember Kris for her ability to strike up a conversation with anyone and her friendly demeanor towards anyone she came in contact with.
