Obituary for Lee Oliverius

H. Lee Oliverius, age 81, a longtime area resident, passed away in Sidney, NE on March 11, 2022. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. Thursday, March 17, 2022, at Gehrig-Stitt Chapel in Sidney, NE with Pastor Chad Rademacher officiating. Burial will take place in Greenwood Cemetery in Sidney, NE. Friends may stop at the Gehrig-Stitt Chapel on Wednesday from 1-6:00 P.M.

Lee Oliverius, son of Henry and Florence P. (Olsen) Oliverius, was born on April 3, 1940, in Sidney, NE. He attended St. Patrick’s High School in Sidney, NE until October 31, 1958 when he joined the United States Marine Corp. He served until his discharge on October 31, 1961. Upon returning to the area, Lee was employed Co-op and Nifda until he became the owner of Panhandle Supply.
On June 3, 1993, Lee was united in marriage to Sharon Segelke. Lee enjoyed fishing, playing cards, watching football and wood working.
Lee is survived by one son, Tim Oliverius of Sidney and one daughter, Gina Jo Elgert and husband Jake of Savannah, MO, 5 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild, 3 sisters, Mary & husband Mert Miller of Gurley, NE, Elizabeth & John Beyer and Kathy & Bill Moore both of Sidney, NE.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Sharon, 2 sisters, Margie Norton and Louise Clark, 2 brothers, Donald Oliverius, Leroy Hendrix and 1 grandson, Ethan Elgert.
