Lillian B. Sharman age 99 of Sidney, NE passed away Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at the Sidney Regional Medical Center Extended Care in Sidney.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, January 12th in the St. Paul’s Lutheran church with Reverend Cory Burman officiating. Interment will be in the Greenwood Cemetery in Sidney. Friends may stop at the Gehrig-Stitt Chapel on Friday from 5-7:00 P.M. and continue on Saturday from 9:00 A.M. until service time at the church. Lillian Belle Martha (Badziong) Sharman was born May 13, 1919, in Sidney, Nebraska to William and Lola (Jones) Badziong. Lillian was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran South Divide Church. She attended Trinity Lutheran Garden School and graduated from Sidney High School in 1937. On September 29, 1940, Lillian married her high school sweetheart, Verne Sharman, at St; Paul’s Lutheran Church in Sidney. She lived her entire life in Cheyenne County.
Lillian and Verne farmed north of Colton, Nebraska. She was a very active member of St. Paul’s
Lutheran Church, and served on the board of liberty School District for several years. Lillian enjoyed doing needle work and crocheting, making quilts and blankets for all of her children grandchildren. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Lillian is survived by: Son –Don (Cindy) Sharman of Lodgepole, NE, Grandchildren- Darrell (Amanda) Sharman of Lodgepole, NE; and Angel Sharman of Casper, WY: Son-Lyle Sharman of Columbus, NE: Daughter-Peggy (Maynard) Holtorf of Hordville, NE, Grandchildren-Jennifer (John) Kehr of Eagan, MN; Andrew (Ashley) Holtorf of Hordville, NE; Katie (Shawn) Kreizel of Fullerton, NE; and Schott Holtorf of Hordville, NE; Son-Gary (Jean) Sharman of Columbus, NE; Grandchildren-Jonathan (Brittany) Sharman of Beaverton, OR; Erika (Tye) Hanke of Omaha, NE; Jared (Melissa) Sharman of Omaha, NE; and Derek (Shayla) Sharman of Columbus, NE; Daughter-Marlene (Don) Wiechman of West Point, NE; Grandchild-Emily (Aaron) Knust of Lincoln, NE; 17 great-grandchildren and sister-in-law- Ada Sharman of Sidney, NE.
Lillian was preceded in death by: parents-William and Lola Badziong, husband-Verne Sharman, brother-Lester Badziong and brother-in-law-Earl Sharman
