Lois C. Lamm, age 97 of Sidney, NE passed away Monday, March 25, 2019 in Sidney.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, April 3, 2019 in the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church with Pastor Wayne Pouppirt officiating. Burial will follow in the Potter Cemetery. Friends may stop at the Gehrig-Stitt Chapel on Tuesday from 1-7:00 P.M. with family present from 4-7:00 P.M. Memorial contributions may be made in Lois’ name to Holy Trinity Lutheran Church or the Cheyenne County Historical Association. Lois Christena (Davis) Lamm, the daughter of Wallace Eugene and Mary (Anderson) Davis was born on April 5, 1921 in Sidney, NE. She was baptized at the Sidney Methodist Church and attended and graduated from Sidney High School with the class of 1939.
Lois married Delton E. Lamm on May 20, 1941 in her parent’s home which is now known as The Fort Sidney Commander’s Home. Lois began giving piano lessons at the age of 15 and briefly attended Lamont School of Music in Denver. She was a longtime organist at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Potter and Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Sidney. She was a lifetime member of BPO Does Drove #94 in Sidney and numerous Bridge, Pitch and Bible study groups. Lois liked to play the piano, sing, work crossword puzzles and play card games.
Lois is survived by (1) daughter: Wendy Schneider and husband Gary of Bakersfield, CA; (1) grandson: Lincoln Schneider and wife Cassie of Jacksonville, FL; (1) granddaughter Kayleigh Ann Schneider and fiancé` Alan Smith of Reno, NV; special nieces: Nancy McDonald of Loveland, CO, Diane Cushing of Tucson, AZ and Lucyanne Tozzi of Tucson, AZ and special friend Kathy Scripp.
Lois was preceded in death by her husband: Delton; her parents: Wallace and Mary Davis; daughter Valerie Ann Lamm; brothers: William H. Davis, Clifford E. Davis and wife Ernestine and Andy K. Davis.
