Marilyn M. Simes

Marilyn Mae Simes, age 82, from Sidney, NE, passed away peacefully on March 17, 2019 in Parker, CO, with her daughter Cindy by her side.
Marilyn was born on Feb. 12, 1937 in Denver, CO to Virgil Dulany and Doris (Marvin) Dulany. She graduated from Eisenhower High School in Blue Island, IL. She was a proud veteran of the Army where she worked as a teletype operator for three years. While she was in the military, she met her husband. They moved to various places, but her favorite was Alaska. After her military discharge, Marilyn worked in administrations for the federal government until she officially retired on Dec. 31, 1996. After her retirement, she worked part time at Edward Jones to keep herself busy.
Marilyn was extremely passionate about her family. She adored and loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was an avid craftsperson especially sewing, crocheting and knitting. Her other hobbies included reading and crossword puzzles. She also enjoyed and cared for her many pets throughout her life.
Survivors include her four children Cari Wamsley Sidney, NE; Cindy and husband John Scherbarth Aurora, CO; Keith Simes Pensacola, Florida; Jeannette Brant Puyallup, Washington: brothers; Ken Dulany, Alamo, CA, Don and wife Kathie Dulany, Munster, IN: (8) grandchildren: David, Melissa, Kirk (JR), Skylar, Sabrina, Amanda, John and Sara and six great grandchildren: Christian, Connor, Jackson, Hailey, Kayla and Ethan.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents Virgil and Doris Dulany and sister-in-law Joan Dulany.
At her request there will be no funeral and cremation will take place.
