Obituary for Pamela D Nienhueser
Pamela D. Nienhueser , age 72, of Sidney, NE, passed away peacefully at Sidney Regional Medical Center with her husband, Dennis, and a devoted medical team at her side, on Tuesday, November 24, 2020. A private service will be held at the Trinity Lutheran Church South Divide in rural Sidney on Thursday, December 3, 2020 with Pastor Neil Carlson officiating. Burial will follow at the Trinity Lutheran Church Cemetery.

Friends may stop at the Gehrig-Stitt Chapel on Wednesday from 1-6:00 P.M. to sign Pam’s register book and leave condolences for the family.

Pam was born July 20, 1948 in Sidney, NE to Russell Max and Lorene (Sterns) Lindley and joined older brother Gary on the family farm northeast of Lodgepole, NE. She attended Goodview Grade School northeast of Lodgepole through the 8th grade and graduated from Lodgepole High School with the class of 1966. After graduation, Pam went to Lincoln School of Commerce in Lincoln, NE and graduated with a degree in Business in 1968. She then moved to Denver, CO before returning to the Sidney and Lodgepole areas to work at the American National Bank and the Yendis Café owned by her aunt and uncle.
In January 1970 Pam met Dennis Nienhueser and they were united in marriage on October 24, 1970 at United Methodist Church in Chappell, NE. Three children, Todd, Dana, and Kyle, were born to this union. In the late 70s, Pam began working for Nienhueser Construction and Excavating as a part-time bookkeeper. Beginning in the early 80s, she became the full-time office manager and worked there until her retirement in February 2016.
When not busy working, Pam could be found tending to her flower gardens, trekking through antique stores, and spending time with her family, with her grandsons being the light of her life. One highlight each year was when Dennis and Pam, along with lifetime friends, Jerry and Maryann Dickinson, would come up with one of their unusual ideas for participation in the Old Settlers Parade in Lodgepole on Labor Day.
Pam endured three bouts with cancer and spent a lot of time in the last three years in and out of hospitals. In her many stays in the hospital, Pam enjoyed harassing the nurses who all adored her and commented that she was “always happy and so nice, even when they were poking and prodding on her”.
Pam fully enjoyed life and always had a smile on her face. Her faith in the Lord helped her get through all the hard days and kept her fighting. The last round of cancer was also met with pneumonia and Covid. She fought a long, hard battle, but eventually her pain and suffering were taken away and she went home to be with her Lord and Savior.
Survivors include her husband of 50 years, Dennis, of Sidney, NE and children, Todd of Denver, CO, Dana (Brian) Booe of Sidney, NE and Kyle (Kate) of David City, NE. Grandsons, Lucas, Trevor, and Connor Booe. Brother, Gary (Sheryl) Lindley of Muscatine, IA. Nieces, Darcy of Atlanta, GA and Rana (Stacy) Jordahl of Charleston, SC. Brothers-in-law, David (Teresa) Nienhueser and Keith (Kathy) Nienhueser, all of Sidney, NE, Mark (Shelley) Nienhueser of Omaha, NE, and Paul (Gwen) Nienhueser of Greeley, CO. Sisters-in-law, Judy (Les) Larsen of Sidney, NE and Jane (Bill) Sebert of Mitchell, SD, and many nieces and nephews.
Pam was preceded in death by her parents, Russell Max and Lorene (Sterns) Lindley, grandparents, Joseph and Ona (Whiffen) Lindley and Raymond and Elizabeth (Andersen) Sterns, and parents-in-law, Clifford and Ruth (Steffens) Nienhueser.
