Paul Jon Kaiser Jr. was born on April 24, 1955 in Sterling, Colorado to Paul Kaiser Sr. and Shirley (Dick) Kaiser. Paul graduated from Crook High School in Crook, Colorado with the class of 1973. On June 30, 1972 Paul married the love of his life, Janet (Deterding) Kaiser, and they would have been married for 51 years in June. Paul and Janet later welcomed three children; Laura (Kaiser) Knode, Kristin (Kaiser) Hernandez and Kurtis Kaiser. Paul and Janet lived and raised their children in Crook, Colorado before moving to Sidney, Nebraska in 2018. Paul proudly has seven grandchildren; Dawson Knode, Owen Knode, Koleman Kaiser, Ava Hernandez, Keian Kaiser, Kale Kaiser, and Mason Hernandez.
Paul was an avid outdoorsman who spent a lot of his time hunting, fishing, and gardening. One of his favorite pastimes was cooking and grilling for his family at every holiday, birthday, or just any random weekend. Paul was also a huge Colorado sports fan, but Paul’s most treasured moments were spent surrounded by his grandchildren. Paul loved when all the grandchildren would stay over at his and Janet’s home every weekend. Paul enjoyed supplying the endless popsicles, eggs for breakfast, and everything in between. Paul also loved teaching all his grandchildren how to raise animals and prepare them for the county fair. Most of all, Paul cherished his grandchildren’s sporting events. He never missed a game, proudly sporting either Haxtun, Sidney, Caliche, or Hastings gear. Paul was always all of his grandchildren’s number one fan.
Paul’s family that is left to cherish his memories are wife, Janet Kaiser; mom, Shirley Kaiser; daughter, Laura Knode and husband, Tyler; daughter, Kristin Hernandez and husband, Marty; son, Kurtis Kaiser and wife, Sarah; grandchildren, Dawson Knode, Owen Knode, Koleman Kaiser, Ava Hernandez, Keian Kaiser, Kale Kaiser, and Mason Hernandez; brother, Larry Burkholder (Phyllis); sister, Gena Kinoshita; and numerous nieces and nephews.
