Russel Edward Stickley was born in Ogallala, NE on October 24, 1938 to Louis Ernest and Margaret Emma (Houser) Stickley. He graduated with the class of 1957 from Lodgepole, NE and married his high school sweetheart, Lucille Ellen Haskell on June 5, 1959 at Kowanda Methodist Church in rural Garden County, NE. After his service to his country, he worked at various jobs in the North Platte and Ogallala areas until joining Wheatbelt Public Power District in Sidney in 1972. There he worked as a heavy equipment operator for 31 years until his retirement.
He was passionate about serving as an officer for the local chapter of the Disabled American Veterans and being a part of the honor guard firing squad for the American Legion. He also loved preparing prime rib dinners for family and friends. He will be greatly missed.

Lucy and Family,
Phil and I just could not believe Russ had passed away. The last Saints reunion seems like yesterday, we really had a wonderful time, going to the base for a tour of all the planes and memories of their time on that base.
I saved the e-mails Russ sent, the last one was on May 19 "Animals are better at comforting the sick than humans are", about a therapy horse named Peyo, I can imagine Russ being comforted by Peyo.
Phil and I send our heart felt sympathy and prayers.
