Sharon (Sherri) K. Gregg

On Thursday, February 6, 2020, Sharon “Sherri” Gregg peacefully passed from this world to the next, surrounded by family in Sidney, NE.
Sherri, the daughter of Frank and Lee (Simmons) Gregg, was born in Stafford, KS on October 31, 1953. Sherri remembers fondly the adventure of living in Ankara, Turkey at the age of 4 with her family. She moved with the family to Sidney in 1961 and graduated from Saint Patrick’s Academy in 1971.
She moved to Lincoln after graduation for 2 years and then returned to Sidney. During her time in Sidney she worked for Sidney National Bank and with her father at Rocky Mountain trucking. In 1983, she moved to Denver, CO. She started work with Manna Pro feed mill as a Quality Control Specialist in 1988 and continued working there for 30 years until her retirement in 2018. Upon retirement, Sherri moved back to Sidney where she cared for her father until his death.
As a young woman, Sherri enjoyed playing volleyball and softball. As time went on, she learned to knit and needle stitch. She created beautiful baby blankets.
During her life, Sherri helped family members during transitions and crisis in their lives and was always willing to help. Sherri was a loving daughter, sister and aunt. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Sherri was always quick to laugh.
Sherri is preceded in death by her parents Frank and Lee Gregg, her sisters Carol Gregg and Patricia Klem.
She is survived by: her brother Lonnie (Ilsa), nieces, Sunny (David Grimes) Knott, Michelle (Martin Humphries) Knott, Danae (Jeremy Narjes), Kenan and Kalin Gregg, great-nieces/nephews James and David Narjes, Nika and Atlas Grimes and Ada and Arlo Humphries and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held Thursday, February 13th, at 10:00 A.M. in the Saint Patrick’s Catholic Church in Sidney with Father Mike McDermott officiating. Graveside service and inurnment will be on Monday, June 28, 2021 at 2:00 P.M. in the Greenwood Cemetery in Sidney, NE. Friends may stop at the Gehrig-Stitt Chapel on Wednesday, February 12th from 1-7. You may view Sherri’s Book of Memories, leave condolences, photos and stories at www.gehrigstittchapel.com. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Sherri’s name to St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Sidney. Gehrig-Stitt Chapel and Cremation Service, LLC is in charge of Sherri’s care and funeral arrangements.
