Obituary for Stephanie Hajek

Stephanie Lee Hajek, age 33, loving mother, daughter and sister passed away Thursday, January 21, 2021 in Englewood, CO after her courageous battle with cancer. Services for Stephanie L. Hajek have been postponed from February 5th and 6th. A Wake service will be February 26, 2021 at 6:00 P.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Saturday, February 27, 2021 at 10:00 A.M. with Father Mike McDermott officiating. Both services will be at the St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Sidney, NE. Friends may stop at the Gehrig-Stitt Chapel on Friday until 4:00 on Friday, February 26th to leave condolences for the family. Graveside services will be at 10:30 A.M. on Saturday, July 31, 2021 in the Greenwood Cemetery in Sidney. A Celebration of Life will follow the graveside service at The Rock in Sidney. Stephanie was born November 12, 1987 in Sidney, NE where she was raised by her mother Cathy Hecker. Stephanie graduated from Sidney high school in 2006 and attended UNL before returning home to start her career at Cabela’s/Bass Pro. After returning home, Stephanie got married and had her only son, Drake, in 2011. Stephanie lived for Drake and he was the center of her life. She enjoyed nothing more than being with him. She loved spending all her time with him enjoying sports games, camping, traveling, and spending time with family. Stephanie’s joy for life was nothing short of extraordinary. Her smile and laugh were contagions to everyone who met her. Steph is someone who will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She was an unusually amazing person and cared infinitely about her family and friends. She was a beautiful person inside and out. Stephanie was an angel that walked among us and touched the lives of anyone who knew her. No one was stronger and more courageous than Steph.
Stephanie is survived by the joy of her life, son Drake Hajek, Mother Cathy Hecker, Stepfather Rick Frerichs, Rodney Hecker. Sisters, Chelsea Johnson and husband, Shawn, Amy Hecker (Chris Calistri), Brandi Mummert and husband, Ryan, Shanon Myers and husband, Wayne. Nieces, Kyra Johnson, McKenzie Myers and Caelan Myers. Nephews Logan Johnson, Coby Myers, William Mummert and Brayden Mummert. Grandmother Nancy Wolff along with numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and family near and far whom will miss her dearly.
Stephanie is preceded in death by her Grandfather Leo Wolff and Cousin Brennan Wolff.
