Stephen B. Bennett, age 77 of Sidney, NE passed away Sunday, January 20, 2019 in Sidney.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Thursday, January 31st in the Gehrig-Stitt Chapel in Sidney with Reverend Mary Jo Dean of the Light Memorial Presbyterian Church officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenwood Cemetery. Friends may stop at the Gehrig-Stitt Chapel on Wednesday from 1-7:00 P.M. Stephen Bruce Bennett, the son of John H. and Bernice (Crawford) Bennett, was born on June 15, 1941 in Alliance, NE. He attended Chadron State College.
Stephen was married to Diane Miller and later to Terry Tiensvold and had two daughters, Jennifer and Krystyn. On June 17, 1991 Stephen was united in marriage to Lynda Kay Vernon in Cheyenne, WY. They made their home in Sidney. This marriage brought Stephen three step-children, Devin, Steven and Kayla.
Stephen worked as a feedlot rider and Manager, Alcohol/Drug counselor in Hay Springs, NE, Truck Driver, Cheyenne County Road Department worker and also worked at the Cabela’s warehouse.
Stephen is survived by his wife Lynda, (2) daughters: Jennifer Koubek and Husband Phil of North Platte, NE, and Krystyn Turman and Jerry of Hay Springs, NE, Step-children: Devin Rey Vernon, Steven Castle Vernon, Kayla Renae Vernon and (11) grandchildren.
Stephen was preceded in death by his parents John and Bernice Bennett, (2) brothers; Dean and Keith and (1) sister Mary Rose.
