Wanda L Rezac (Wertz) was born October 2 1929 to Fred I. Wertz & Annis (Campbell) Wertz in Edison OH, the 6th of 7 children. She attended school there and then attended college in Columbus, OH for her Lab technician and RN degree. She then moved to Sidney to work at the old Taylor Hospital for several years until she married Donald R. Rezac on July 27th 1950 and decided to stay home and raise her family. She was blessed with three sons, Rodney, Roger and Robert.
She was a devoted wife and mother growing a huge garden and chickens to help feed her family. She also loved to sew and made most of her family’s clothing.
She and Don raised honey and for many years were always found at the Oktoberfest selling their honey, rolls, jellies and garden produce.
She was most known for her flower garden. She raised iris and had over 3000 different varieties and had one that was named after her. When the iris bloomed, she would have many visitors come to the farm and place orders and then she would thin the iris out.
She also loved to sew quilts and made one for many of her family members.
She was a long-time member of the Light Presbyterian Church for over 70 years.
She and Don loved to go camping with the Camping Club and often took the grandkids with them. They also went south in the winter for several years until Don’s health got too bad to go.
She is survived by her three sons, Rodney and wife Annie Rezac, Roger Dean and wife Deb Rezac and Robert and wife Becky Rezac, Nine grandkids, Jeff, Brian, Dan Rezac, Matt Talhelm, Dustin and Elise Rezac, Jim, Dan and Angela Lenzen, fifteen great grandkids and many nieces and nephews and one sister-in-law.
