Obituary for William John "Bill" Plummer

William John Plummer (Bill), age 89 of Farmington, New Hampshire, died January 11, 2023, at Birch Healthcare in Rochester, New Hampshire.
Born July 18, 1933, in Portage, Pennsylvania. Son of Francis and Doris (Sargent) Plummer, he grew up in Bangor, Maine and he also lived in Sidney, Nebraska for 45 years.
Bill was a Retired United States Navy, having served for thirty-five years, this was also during the Vietnam and Korean Wars.
Bill a Catholic Christian, he was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Council #1861, Sidney, NE, also with the Knights of Columbus, he served as District Deputy for District #31, NE, for the Western Nebraska Panhandle.
The coast was dear to Bill’s heart. Especially Winter Harbor, Bar Harbor where he shopped for lobsters and clams. He loved food. His sister, Dottie, would send crates of apples and yellow eyed beans for his crockpots. She even canned mincemeat that she sent for his pies. Bill adored the outdoors and enjoyed going for walks as well as just sitting watching the ocean.
He is survived by his niece Dawn and Ron Curtis (Bill’s caregivers) of Farmington, New Hampshire and several nieces and nephews in Maine. Preceded in death by 2 sisters Emily & Dottie and 3 brothers Chuck, Robert & Dick.
Interment was January 18, 2023, at Maine Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery in Augusta, Maine with a prayers service by Father Anthony and Military Honors by the United States Navy.
