On July 7, 1970 Yoshiko married Delbert McIrvin in Fukuoka, Kyushu, Japan. They lived in Sasebo, Nagasaki, Japan until August 1971. After the birth of their daughter, Linda, Delbert made the decision to retire from the Navy and return to Sidney where his mother lived and raise their family.
Yoshiko was a very strong and caring woman. She loved to sew and for years made all of her own clothes, Linda’s clothes and her mother-in-law’s clothes. She loved spending time with her family and cooking their favorite Japanese dishes. She always said “you likea eat, I likea cook, you no likea eat, I no likea cook”.
Yoshiko was a great person with the strongest will. She will be greatly missed by all those she touched.
Yoshiko is survived by her daughter Linda and husband Todd Brauer of Sidney and granddaughters Victoria Brauer and Janay Brauer of Sidney.
