Lucille was born on April 27, 1938, in Sidney, to William Koehn and Adella Kragel. She was the beloved husband of Dyle Dillon, married May 5, 1962, in Denver, and the devoted mother of Russell “Rusty” Dillon, II, (Wendy) of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Sondra Dillon of Sacramento, Calif., and Allison Dillon-Jauken (Jeff) of Huntsville, Alabama. Lucille was also the proud grandmother of Broderick Thomas Dillon, Caleb Todd Dillon, and Grant Dyle Robert Jauken.

Lucille’s youth was spent in her hometown of Sidney, where she was raised a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. After graduating from Sidney High School, Lucille briefly attended Kearney State College before returning home to assist her parents and work in the Sidney city schools. Following her marriage to Dyle Dillon in 1962, Lucille achieved her life-long goal to be a mother, and she dedicated much of her life to raising her three children.

In 1975, Lucille moved with her family to Kimball, where she resided until her death. While in Kimball, Lucille enthusiastically supported her children’s many extra-curricular activities and academic pursuits. An avid genealogist, Lucille also worked to establish the Genealogy Collection at the Kimball Public Library, and for many years she was a member of the Kimball Chapter of Epsilon Sigma Alpha International.

An active hobbyist, Lucille’s many interests included beading, photography, sewing and candy-making. Later in life, Lucille and her husband began showing and breeding prize-winning Maltese; her dog-show business, Cherubwhims, also sold supplies to breeders and dog-show competitors. Lucille served as an officer with the Cheyenne Kennel Club, Cheyenne, Wyo., and she and her husband competed in dog shows throughout Nebraska, Wyoming, Colorado and New Mexico.

Lucille was a member of St. John’s Lutheran’s Church in Kimball, and her faith strengthened her throughout her life. She relished good conversation and visits with family and friends. Though her children resided across the country, she cherished their visits and phone calls, and she took great pride in the accomplishments of her children and grandchildren.

Lucille was preceded in death by her husband, Dyle Dillon; father, William Koehn; mother, Adella Koehn; brother, Darrell Koehn; and sister Darlene Oliverius.
