Marjorie Meese Winter, the daughter of Forrest William and Leona Laura (Meese) Newcomer, was born on September 28, 1926 at Hartley, IA. She attended schools in Rock Rapids, IA and graduated from Rock Rapids High School in 1944. Marge attended Coe College in Cedar Rapids and was united in marriage to Wilfred Carsten Winter on September 2, 1951 at Rock Rapids. Marge worked at the People’s Department Store until it closed and she retired. She moved to Sidney in 2006.
Survivors include: (4) daughters: Deborah Piepho and husband Wallace of Leawood, KS, Barbara Daiker and husband Robert of Odebolt, IA, Patricia Teager and husband Patrick of Jackson, NE and Rebecca Butkus and husband William of Sidney; (1) sister-in-law: Edyth Briggs of Hills, MN; special friend: George Powell of Sidney; (10) grandchildren, (6) great-grandchildren and numerous extended family members.
Marge was preceded in death by her parents and husband Wilfred on April 15, 1982.
