Elsie J.  Green (Glanz)
Elsie J. Green, age 84 of Sidney, NE passed away Tuesday, October 2, 2012 at the Kimball County Manor in Kimball, NE.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Friday, October 5th in the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Sidney with Pastor David Hall and Rev. Amanda Esping officiating. Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery in Sidney.
Friends may stop at the Gehrig-Stitt Chapel on Thursday from 1-7:00 P.M., with a Prayer Service beginning at 7:00 at the funeral home.

Elsie Jane Green, the daughter of William and Marie Katherine (Groskoph) Glanz, was born on
April 17, 1928 at Sidney. She attended rural school at District #76 and graduated from Sidney High School. Following graduation she began working in the Sidney City Offices. On June 15, 1947, Elsie was united in marriage to Roland Ernest Green at Sidney. Elsie stayed at home to raise her children and help on the farm. Upon returning to the work force, she was employed at Sears for many years. Following her retirement, Elsie worked part-time at Pro Mart and as a Job Coach at the Educational Service Unit.
Elsie was a member of the Sidney Elks Lodge, enjoyed traveling, arts and crafts and was honored along with her sister as the longest living members during the 125 Year Celebration at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church.
Survivors include: (2) daughters: Karen Morrison and husband John of Kimball and Janette Chappell of Gering; (1) sister: Marie Johnson of Sidney; (1) sister-in-law: Delores Quetermous of Denver, CO; (4) grandchildren: Karie Hansmeier and husband Scott of Ogallala, Kimberli Anderson and husband Dave of Melbeta, NE, Heather Samland and husband J.R. of Wheatland, WY and Seth Chappell and wife Richelle of Eckley, CO; (11) great-grandchildren and numerous extended family members and friends.
Elsie was preceded in death by her husband: Roland in 1993, (1) brother: Willie Glanz, (2) sisters: Esther Henderson and husband Roy and Violet Jackson and husband Cecil and (1) brother-in-law: Robert Johnson.
