Charlotte Viola “Stina” Doyle, the daughter of Wilhelm and Olga (Norstrom) Dahlgren, was born on January 28, 1924 at Meridian, IA. She was raised on the Lower Brule Indian Reservation in Stanley County, just outside of Pierre, SD. Stina attended the Pierre Schools and graduated from Pierre High School. She began her secretary career in South Dakota with the Highway Department before moving to Denver, CO in the early 1950s and was employed with the Burns Detection and Manufacturing Agency. On February 16, 1957, Stina was united in marriage to Larry Doyle in Denver. They moved to Sidney in 1959 where Larry was employed at the Fort Sidney Motor Lodge before Larry found his home at Cedar Lanes. Stina continued secretarial work at Law Firms prior to working for years at Educational Service Unit #14 and volunteering extensively with organizations such as the United Way. She retired in 1983 and spent many hours helping at the Catholic Rummage House and Meals on Wheels.
Stina was an avid bowler but enjoyed watching all sports, especially her beloved Denver Broncos. She also cherished her card games and the friends that came with them as her greatest joy was the people in her life.
Survivors include (2) sons: Sean (Peggy Popps) Doyle of Sidney and Mark (Lynnette) Doyle of Laramie, WY; (3) grandsons: Joseph Doyle and fiancé Hilary Osborn of Colorado Springs, CO, Kyle Doyle and Reid Doyle both of Sidney; (1) great-granddaughter: Rylee of Casper, WY. Stina also had an extensive, loving group of step-family members including Jena, Jamie and Blanche, Shane, Eric, Laura, Leon, Remington, Jenna, Grahm, Porter, Stockton, Jaydann and Addalynn. Her close family lent itself to a very tight-knit network of nieces and nephews from New York to California.
Stina was preceded in death by her husband Larry, (3) brothers: Wayne, Dale and Boyd Dahlgren.
“The beauty of a life well lived never dies. It continues to embrace and inspire us.”
