Esther Elizabeth Elliott, the seventh child of George and Eva (Cranmer) Lingle, was born in St. Clair County, MO on January 25, 1930. The Lingle family was part of the Church of God (Holiness) in Black Jack, MO before moving to Gravette, AR. In 1936 Esther attended the Gravette Holiness Bible School. At a young age Esther gave her life to the Lord. In 1940 the family moved to Lamar, CO, where she continued her education at the Lamar Holiness Bible School through the eleventh grade.
On February 4, 1948, Esther married Merl Elliott in Bristol, CO. They had five children: Barbara, Calvin, Grace, David and Jimmy. They later divorced and she moved to Menard, TX. In 1956 Esther married Jim Ross and they later moved to Portales, NM and then to Lisco, NE. Jim and Esther had two children: Rose and Cindy. Following their divorce she moved back to Lamar, CO. In 1965 she married George Williams and three children were born to this marriage: George “GT”, Carol and Mary. Esther later divorced, living in Colorado for over fifty years working for the State of Colorado until her retirement in 1988. She also raised four grandchildren: Amanda, Crystal, JR and Sarah, moving to Iowa in 2011.
Survivors include: (10) children; (19) grandchildren, (26) great-grandchildren; (4) great-great-grandchildren and many extended family members and friends.
Esther was preceded in death by her parents, (2) step-mothers: Alice and Jewel, (3) sisters: Vica Adams, Fay Tapio and Ellen Taylor, (2) brothers: Lee and Earl, (5) brothers-in-law: Vernie Cox Sr., Floyd Adams, Marion Bush, Howard Holt and Paul Taylor, (3) husbands: Merl Elliott, Jim Ross and George Williams, (1) daughter: Barbara Glenn, (1) son-in-law: Charlie Parr, (1) grandson: Christopher Elliott, (2) great-grandsons: Cody and Cory Glenn and numerous extended family members.
